Horizon's Manufacturing

 

The implementation and support of business applications for manufacturing companies has been the focus of Custom Information Services (CIS) since 1989. Founded in 1987, Horizons International has worked exclusively with Microsoft Business Solutions Dynamics GP, having developed many custom additions for Great Plains' character-based product using Magic PC, moving to Dexterity in 1993 to create applications that link seamlessly to Dynamics and eEnterprise. As Microsoft releases new versions of their products, Horizons is one of the first tightly integrated, certified ISVs to release theirs so your customers can move up to take advantage of new functionality quickly.


The Horizon's Manufacturing application has a tight, seamless interface with Microsoft Dynamics GP Inventory, Sales Order Processing and Purchase Order. Horizons Manufacturing Suite was released in 1995 and has over 500 active sites worldwide in a number of industries including high-tech, life sciences, food and beverage, chemical and electronics.

 

Manufacturing Solutions:


Bill of Materials with Production Orders (BOM)- including Indented Bill of Materials as well as viewing bills via the "Tree View", (like MS Explorer), advanced Copy, Replace and Delete capabilities, Phantom BOMs, Standard Labor/Overhead, Actual Time entry, Variances, automatic Sales Orders to Work Orders, and disassembly of completed work orders. Handles discrete, batch and process manufacturing. Gives the user the ability to make changes to a work order on-the-fly and to adjust final component quantities used, including recording of byproducts.

 

Multi Product Production (MPP) - This module is designed for organizations that routinely build multiple finished goods from multiple components with one manufacturing work order. Provides automatic and manual cost allocation options and fixed or variable quantity relationships between the components and the finished goods.

 

Engineering Change Orders and Revisions (ECO ) - Visualize quickly with a graphic selection tree for 'Planned', 'In Use' or 'Historical' ECOs/BOMs. Alphanumeric ECO, Revision and Change Request numbers with decimal sub numbers. Unlimited Comments for ECOs, Revisions, and Approvals. Manufacturer's Part Number specific to each Revision to change with effective date. Optional Sequenced Checking for date and revision number. Manually process ECOs daily in mass of allow the next production work order to trigger effective dates.

 

Serial and Lot Control - with the ability to trace components 'cradle-to-grave' from unlimited component levels through the parent item.

 

Router provides functionality and support for shop floor instructions through work centers and operations. It enhances current standard cost functionality and enables performance reporting for actual activities against planned. Item level operational needs differentiated between flat and run times. It calculates unit and batch costs and provides lead time offsets for MRP.

 

Shop Floor Control provides various work center and capacity planning tools. Work order status and capacity required to complete is available from production and sales order drill downs. Move a production work order along a predetermined or optional routing schedule where material, labor and overhead standard or actual costs are accessed for real time cost rollup to the GL or auto application to WIP GL accounts.

 

Material Requirements Planning (MRP) - Including Purchase Scheduling and lead times, Forecasting and Automatic Purchase Orders based on Sales Orders, Forecasting, Reorder Level or Work Order demand. Auto creation of Subassembly Work Orders.

 

Manufacturing Production Scheduling (MPS) - Infinite scheduling for production and what-if scenarios. Summarized view of all finished goods at once and quantities affecting them, with drill down to detail.

 

hZ Configurator is a powerful estimating and configuration tool designed to link to the Sales Order and Inventory modules (for the distribution industry) and Horizons Manufacturing Suite (for make-to-order manufacturers). Uses all manufacturing/assembly costs including routings to provide sales staff accurate costing and quoting to the customer.

 

Item Price Matrix (IPM) is an advanced pricing schedule system for Microsoft Dynamics GP Sales Order Processing, designed to enhance the current pricing schedule.
